Information on foreign adoption

We are always happy to answer any questions you may have - before and after the adoption.
Adopting a dog from abroad is a rewarding task that requires patience, understanding, commitment and a great deal of empathy. With the right preparations and good information, you can offer a dog from animal welfare a loving home and build a rewarding relationship. Remember that the dog will need time to get used to its new environment and be prepared to give it the support it needs.

Living conditions of the dogs

Origin: The dogs from Romania have mostly lived on the streets or in shelters, often in very poor conditions. A few may have grown up in gardens or fields, but these are also usually in poor conditions.

Socialization: Many of these dogs have no experience with children, cats or other pets. You will need to be patient and understanding when it comes to adapting to a new home.

Challenges and opportunities

Unknown factors: Adopting a foreign dog is like a surprise egg. You never know exactly what to expect, but it's worth the effort. These dogs have often experienced terrible things - hunger, thirst, lack of attention and security.

New experiences: You offer the dog the opportunity to experience all these things and start a new life. In return, the dog will cooperate with you as much as it can and become a loyal partner.

Transport adaptation process: Transport takes at least two days and often means stress for the dogs, despite good conditions.

Acclimatization: First of all, calm is the most important thing. Give the dog time to settle in and don't have any expectations at the beginning. The new environment and the new people are already so many influences that the dog must first process after transportation. Give him the time he needs to settle in. Show your new family member his new life in small steps.
